A sharp corner is uncomfortable to handle. Depending on the species, the wood may splinter or crumble. A sharp corner will not take the finish. You cannot paint a sharp edge. Try putting a coat of light paint over dark wood, once dry a dark unpainted line on the edge is obvious. The Edge Breaker set rounds over sharp edges for a very exact and controlled result. There are 4 radii: 1mm, 1.5mm, 2mm and 2.5mm, all bearing guided for rounding straight or curved edges. Importantly, the radius of each cutter rather ending with a 90° corner has a slight relief angle to ensure a perfect finish. Even a 1mm radius makes a world of difference, whatever finish you apply. All cutters are 1/4" shank.-bg
