Clifton 420 Shoulder Plane

All Clifton planes are top quality and machined to very fine tolerances. The 420 is a 200mm long shoulder plane with a 19mm wide cutter. The solid one-piece body is machined from fine grey cast iron, precisely ground on both base and sides and has a fine 0.8mm mouth. The gently curved polished lever arm sits perfectly in your palm offering both comfort and fine control. The body is ground flat and square, sides and sole, allowing you to use the 420 laid flat on either side or upright. The 19mm wide O1 tool steel blade; hardened to HRC 59-61C, takes and holds a razor edge. Adjustment is by means of a fine feed screw. The blade is bedded at 18°, used bevel-up with a 25° bevel gives a 43° pitch. Weight: 1.1kg.-bg
