Clifton Adjustable Mouth Block Plane

This Clifton block is a pleasure to use. The body is cast bronze, with the sides and sole machined and accurately ground. The upper surface features Clifton’s graphite finish and logo. The lever cap is formed from a thick brass screw cap topped with Walnut, carefully shaped and sanded to fit the palm of your hand. The plane feels natural and warm in use. The blade is bedded at 12°, with a bevel angle of 25° giving an overall 37° cutting angle. The 3mm thick, O1 steel blade is cryogenically treated to HRC 60-62. It takes and holds a super sharp edge. The adjustable mouth allows a fine setting for the thinnest shavings, or a wider opening for heavier cuts. The plane’s Norris style adjustment combines fine micro-depth control with lateral adjustment. This plane is destined to become your favourite.-bg
