Crown Mini Carbide Pro Hollowing Tip Turning Tool

This is a miniature version of the Crown Carbide Pro Hollowing Tip Turning Tool. Like its larger cousin it is highly efficient. This tool is perfect for smaller scale projects. It is particularly effective when turning cast resin, polyester and acrylic as well as hardwoods. At the business end is a 12mm diameter round, solid tungsten carbide cutter made from the finest nano-particle carbide that is hardened to an unbelievable HRC93. Being so hard it is incredibly long lasting, when the edge does eventually dull you simply loosen the fixing screw, turn the cutter to a fresh edge and carry on turning. The shaft of the tool is square in cross section to make better contact with the lathe’s tool rest. The length including the handle is 240mm. The tools work best when flat and level, cutting at centre height or, with the handle slightly raised, cutting just below centre. Each tool comes with a 2.5mm hex key.-bg
