    Description

Our fully refined paraffin wax is an odourless solid white block. Paraffin wax has a multitude of uses in the workshop, and for craft and hobbies. It has a melting point of approximately 58ºC, molten wax is useful for sealing end grain on timber to prevent the wood from splitting. When melting the wax, always use a double boiler; never melt wax directly on the heat source. Paraffin wax is an excellent lubricant. Often applied to drawer runners, or a quick wipe on the base of a plane, it is just as effective for zips, scissors, shears and many other tools. Blended with other waxes and solvents, paraffin is an ingredient in many recipes for homemade polishes. A mixture of paraffin wax, turpentine and linseed oil is good for waterproofing canvas and similar fabrics. Common hobby and craft uses include candle making and batik. Supplied as 500g block. N.B.
