This machine is delivered by our own Axminster transport team. The American Beauty lathe is as close to a woodturner’s dream lathe as you are going to get. The American Beauty lathe has stainless steel bedways, no matter how much green turning you do they are never going to rust. A sliding headstock, lets you turn off the end up to a possible 1,500mm diameter. Power comes from a 1.5kW motor, a two step pulley gives a speed range of 50 to 3,000rpm. The switch box includes a variable speed control as well as forward/reverse switch. Rare earth magnets on the back of the box let you position it in any convenient spot on the lathe. The head and tailstock spindles are machined from pre-hardened and stress relieved 4140 Chrome Moly alloy steel. The headstock has a spindle lock, for safety the lathe cannot be started with the lock engaged. There is a 48 position indexed handwheel on the headstock. The headstock design allows greater access to the back of your work. Both the headstock and tailstock are cast iron and precision CNC machined to exacting tolerances. The stand is height adjustable taking into account turners don’t all share the same stature; attention to detail is second to none. Centre height range: 1,065mm to 1.270mm.
