Robust Low Profile Tool Rests

The Robust Low Profile Tool Rests are perfect when making delicate cuts and fine control is most important. These tool rests are somewhat narrower in depth compared to the Robust Comfort Rests. The reduction in the depth allows you to place your fingers on the underside of the rest with your thumb on the top of the tool. Effectively trapping the tool between thumb and forefingers, thus giving you much greater control. Each tool rest features a round, hardened steel bar welded to the top edge. This bar will not dent or nick and tools will continue to glide smoothly even after years of turning. Like the Comfort Rests, you can also drop the handle of your tool allowing for shear scraping and improved skew cutting action. Available with stem sizes to fit various lathes. The 25.4mm(1") stem tool rests are compatible with the following Axminster lathes, Craft AC355WL, Trade AT350WL and AT406WL. They also fit the Robust American Beauty, Robust Sweet 16 and the Robust Scout. The 30mm stem tool rests are compatible with the Axminster Trade AT508WL lathe.
