Woodcut Tools Pro-Mount Body with Spindle & 1" Tool Post

Born out of the need to hold chuck mounted turned work for embellishing, this carving stand gives you the option of mounting a woodturning chuck with a M33 x 3.5mm thread onto the Pro-Mount. Simply screw a freshly turned bowl directly onto the Pro-Mount for embellishment and decoration whilst the bowl is held in the jaws of the chuck. Workpieces can be moved onto the Pro-Mount whilst remaining in the chuck, allowing it to directly be put back onto the lathe to finish turning. It is precision machined from 1045 high tensile steel. The Pro-Mount Carving Stand has two independant locking levers so you can rotate your work horizontally or vertically, offering positive positional locking at any position. The outer level controls horizontal rotation, allowing you to turn your work a full 360 degrees. There is great advantage in being able to adjust your work one plane at a time. Your project will stay secure; when unlocking a lever to adjust the angle of your work, the chuck, holding your project stays securely held in the Pro-Mount without the risk of it dropping and damaging your project, which is a risk with other single lever carving products. Once the levers are locked your work will not move and carving or detailing can commence. Vacuum chuck compatible, the Pro-Mount spindle has a hole through the centre and a 1/4" BSP thread at its base for an airline fitting. This gives the option of using a vacuum chuck as a means of work holding. If you own the Woodcut Tools Bowlsaver, the post from it fits the Pro-Mount, offering the choice of mounting the Pro-Mount onto your lathe's banjo.
