SPAX MDF screws are designed to give you a clean flush seating for screw fixing MDF and particle boards. Specially designed, they effectively reduce splitting and bulging of the material. They are easy to use as they are self drilling and require no pilot hole. The countersink heads have cutting ribs to give a flush seating without splitting or raising the board around the screw head. With a deep thread and slim profile these gimlet pointed screws can be driven home without pre-drilling when using the thinner boards. The deep thread provides a firm strip resistant grip on the material. WIROX is an anti-corrosion coating giving 10 times greater anti-corrosion protection compared to yellow zinc plating. Partially threaded screws are particularly suitable for fixing boards together. As the thread tightens securely into the lower one, the upper one is forced tightly against the lower by the screw head. A Torx head has two major advantages. Hardly any pressure is required to keep the screwdriver tip in the head recess, virtually eliminating the chances of cam-out. The transmission of the driving force is radial rather than axial, so less effort is needed. Recess: 3.5mm = T15; 4.0 & 4.5mm = T20. Boxes of 200.-bg
