A 1.1kw motor and inverter offer dial controlled variable speed (50-3,000rpm), with digital readout and reverse. The single pulley design means plenty of torque, without fiddly belt changes. The spindle lock disconnects the controls preventing accidental start-up. Another great safety feature is the stop bar, running the full length of the lathe bed. With both hands holding a tool, a quick nudge with your hip stops the lathe. The headstock has a 24-hole index with each stop lockable with a pin. The tailstock quill has 75mm of smooth travel for boring. Overall the Scout is a lot of lathe.
