Woodcut Irons Tool Gate Without Tool Post

Although originally designed for use with Woodcut Pro Forme hollowing tools, the Phil Irons tool gate works just well with other hollowing and boring tools. The Irons tool gate facilitates greater control of the tool compared to a conventional rest. It offers much more versatility. The design also enables you to position the rest inside the turning, reducing the unsupported length of the tool. The main feature is the U-shaped gate that prevents the tool from moving sideways while allowing it to pivot freely for smooth and controlled cuts. The 12mm thick steel rest measures 175mm long x 25mm thick. It features a choice of 6 holes for placing the gate in the best position. The rest comes with 2 gates: one for 16mm and 19mm tool shanks and the other for 22mm and 25mm tool shanks. This is the Irons tool gate rest and gates only; it will require the purchase of a suitable post. The optional post threads into the bottom of the rest and features a stop collar that can be set to the proper height.-bg
